Project Type: Legacy systems replacement
Technologies: Legacy mainframe, Oracle ERP, Web UI
Problem: The client’s legacy systems were inflexible, couldn’t be adapted to changing (and global) business needs, and were expensive to maintain. These systems also were a SOX compliance risk.
How Seilevel helped: By identifying gaps in current applications with global front office processes, Seilevel prioritized for staggered deployment, ensured no loss of productivity by defining features needed upon deployment, and managed all of the Tax, Legal and Compliance (TLC) features for targeted global regions.
Outcome: To date, an additional margin of approximately $10 Million per year plus projected multi-million dollar savings in license and support costs.
Project Type: New loan processing system
Technologies: Third-party loan software
Problem: The client’s current loan origination system couldn’t handle originating $10 Billion of loans a year. The current system was too time consuming and expensive at those activity levels.
How Seilevel helped: By eliciting functional requirements from business users covering the entire loan processing lifecycle, Seilevel documented system requirements to achieve the client’s business objectives.
Outcome: Documented a system that can process 110,000 loan applications a year, or approximately $16,500,000,000 of loans. That system maintains useful customizations, adds new functionality, and is now being developed and launched.
Project Type: Healthcare payments portal development and legacy systems replacement
Technologies: Benefits and claims processing applications
Problem: Significant risk of fines/sanctions because third party software wasn’t ICD-10 or HIPAA 5010 compliant. In addition, that software was expensive to maintain and was no longer supported.
How Seilevel helped: Seilevel created requirements for 16 departments as part of the Phase 1 release to meet HIPAA 5010 standards, and built out a requirements approach for use in the remainder of the 3-year project. In addition, Seilevel trained the client’s business analysts in that requirements approach.
Outcome: This first phase took the client from Stage 0 to Stage 2 in maturing their requirements process, and enabled them to start building Center of Excellence components in the organization.
